Landon's First Freeze-Dried Ice Cream

Tuesday, March 24th, 2009

This freeze-dried astronaut ice cream is just what you need after a hard day on orbit! I’ve long contemplated how, exactly, Freeze Dried Astronaut Ice Cream should be categorized. Is it candy? Or perhaps it’s simply a general-purpose dessert?

Landon, MAKES HISTORY by having his VERY FIRST freeze-dried ice cream, tells everyone what he thinks about what the astronauts eat, and then yells at the kids to get some too.

Each can contains between 30 and 34 boneless chops and to use just soak in warm or hot tap water for 20 minutes and cook. They come out of the can looking just like a boneless pork chop you would get at your grocer's deli.

You can expect to get at least another 15 to 20 years out of them in the can.

Once opened they will last;

- up to 5 years in the freezer once opened but not re-hydrated

You can open just one can at a time and in 20 minutes cook one or as many of these as you want the same way you would cook any other fresh pork chop.

We found that on a hot skillet, 45 seconds per side makes a fantastic tender chop!
