Boiling water on Buck Mtn with MSR Stove

The MSR "PocketRocket" isobutane-propane stove is the best hiking stove I've ever used. To prepare a Mountain House freeze dried meal, all you do is boil 1/2 a canteen cup of water. This stove will boil the water in 3 minutes flat. Dump the boiling water into the foil pouch, stir, and zip it closed for 3-4 minutes. I've also used the Mountain House "flameless oven". It uses a water activated heater pad, alot like the MRE FRH heaters. It just doesn't get the food very hot in my experience.

The ORIGINAL German Military Esbit Pocket "Tommy" Stove. Small and lightweight, yet strong enough to hold gallon size pot. The Esbit Stove is often copied and has been knocked-off by inferior imports, but none stand-up to the original.
